Are you a local business with a skill, craft or experience to share? As part of Festival of Balmain 2026, local businesses are invited to express interest in delivering free, hands-on workshops for the community.
Curated by the Balmain Rozelle Chamber of Commerce, the workshop program will showcase the incredible expertise, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of local businesses while giving festival visitors the opportunity to learn something new.
We welcome ideas from a wide range of businesses, including food and hospitality operators, wellness providers, creative practitioners, retailers, makers, fitness and lifestyle businesses. Workshops might include demonstrations, tastings, mini classes, creative activities, talks or interactive experiences that are suitable for festival audiences.
This is a unique opportunity to connect with the community, introduce new customers to your business, and help celebrate the vibrant local economy that makes Balmain and Rozelle such special places.
If you have an engaging workshop idea that can be offered free of charge to festival attendees, we'd love to hear from you.
Expressions of Interest are now open. Join us in creating a festival program that highlights the best of local business, creativity and community connection.
Selection Criteria
Your application will be judged against the following criteria:
- The business's alignment with the Council's goals and values as outlined in the Community Strategic Plan
- Suitability and feasibility of the proposal according to the event aims and objectives noted above
- Workshop activities that are free to the community
- Members of the Balmain Rozelle Chamber of Commerce will be prioritised
Selection of businesses is the final decision of Council and no further correspondence will be entered into. Council reserves the right to amend the selection criteria at any time without notice.
THIS APPLICATION IS FOR WORKSHOPS ONLY.
Please read all the information in this application carefully. Due to high demand and a limited number of performance slots available on the day, not all applications will be successful. Please note, participation in previous events does not guarantee an offer as a performer.
