Before You Start

About These Grants
Inner West Council offers two grant streams to support a culturally diverse, progressive and sustainable Inner West:

Artist Support Grants (up to $5,000)
For individual practicing artists based in Inner West seeking professional development, skills training, creative development, or research.

Arts Projects (up to $10,000)

For production and presentation of new work, creative partnerships, or significant cultural projects that benefit Inner West communities.

Please ensure you're applying to the right stream.

Choose Artist Support if:

• You're an individual artist
• You want professional development, training, or mentorship
• You're developing your creative practice

Choose Arts Projects if:

• You're producing/presenting new work
• Your project primarily benefits Inner West community
• You’re applying as a group or organisation, or as an individual whose project has a broader public reach

All applicants are encouraged to read The Grant Guidelines and review the FAQ area on our website before contacting Council.

What You'll Need

- Contact details and ABN
- Activity dates and timeline
- Budget (income and expenses, with quotes for items over $500)
- Examples of your recent creative work (URLs or files - max 5 images OR 5min video/audio OR 5 pages writing)
- CV or resume demonstrating professional experience
- Confirmation of invitation to participate in your proposed project (if applicable) Examples: letter of acceptance into a festival, showing, invitation to present work.
- Partner letters of support (if applicable)
- Letters of Support from industry mentors/leaders/community/key stakeholders (recommended, shows need for the project)
- First Nations cultural protocol documentation (if applicable)
- Venue confirmation if using Council facilities (if applicable)
- Public Liability Certificate of Currency (if you already have it)
