Celebrate Lunar New Year in Ashfield. Hercules street will come alive with vibrant activities and performances.
Note: There will also be Vietnamese celebrations in Marrickville on 14 Feb, please contact events@innerwest.nsw.gov.au for more information.
Event aims and objectives:
- Provide opportunities to share culturally diverse knowledge and customs with event attendees;
- Build relationships and generate community capacity building opportunities amongst local stakeholders;
- Awaken the local streetscape to create a vibrant, celebratory and inclusive space that celebrates local historical and contemporary culture; and
- Highlight existing members of the cultural community and local businesses.
Performer Selection Criteria
🏯Performance honours cultures that celebrate Lunar New Year
🎪 Performance set between 20-30 minutes
⚡ Experience performing at festivals with a quick changeover time valued but not required
📍 Local Ashfield performers prioritised; strong applications from other areas in the Inner West Council Local Government Area will also be considered

Please read all the information in this application carefully. Due to high demand and a limited number of performance slots available on the day, not all applications will be successful. Please note, participation in previous events does not guarantee an offer as a performer.
Selection of performers is the final decision of Council. Council reserves the right to amend the selection criteria at any time without notice.
Please note, in this form you will be asked to upload:
- Copy of your Public Liability Certificate of Currency
- Photo of artist or performance group
- A short bio that can be used for Marketing
Deadlines and Timeline
- Sunday 15 November: Applications close
- Monday 30 November - Sunday 13 December: Performers notified of application outcome
- Monday 14 December - Monday 28 December: Contracts issued and returned
- Monday 11 January - Friday 29 January: performer briefs and final details confirmed, including invoicing
- Sunday 7 February: performances
- Mondy 8 February - payments processed (allow 14 days for payment post-event pending valid invoice)
