Whites Creek Cottage Creative Studios offer two rent-free working spaces for individual artists working in any form. Artists are invited to submit an Expression of Interest for a 12-month tenancy, allowing time for the development of significant projects or bodies of work.
Located in a unique parkland setting, the program provides dedicated studio space for artists and creative practitioners to experiment, create, strengthen their professional practice and contribute to the cultural life of the Inner West.
The studios lend themselves to a range of creative practices and are open to artists at any stage of their career, with sustainability forming part of its broader context and surroundings. The cottage is situated within the Whites Creek Valley Park green corridor, alongside the community gardens and orchard.
Studio Spaces
Successful applicants will have access to:
- One of two 13m² artist studio spaces with basic electricity supply (no 3-phase power):
- The Grevillea Room, or
- The Flannel Flower Room
- Shared kitchen and accessible toilet
The adjacent Melaleuca Rooms are available for public hire throughout the year. Studio artists may book these rooms for occasional use, subject to availability. They are ideal for public presentations of work, workshops, etc.
